Well, I have just finished reading Holes and I just wanted to say what a great book I thought it was! We have a happy ending, and we also have all of our loose ends tied up. There were so many details that seemed unsignificant, but each was essential to the plot. What a brilliant author Louis Sachar is!

What do you guys think about Stanley's letter home on page 46? I think it reflects Stanley's maturity. Most kids (and adults!) would be screaming to get out of there, but Stanley knows that his parents are helpless about the situation. Instead of letting them feel guilty for sending him to Camp Green Lake, he decides that he will tough it out.
