The micronizer is used to inject air into the stream of water coming from the well. It is usually adjusted to inject air 30 to 50 per cent of the overall pump time. Adjustments are made by turning the knob on the side of the unit.

It pulls air into the water line by means of an induction device called a Venturi. The Venturi (sometimes called a “Micronizer” or an educer) is installed in the water line prior to the well's pressure tank. As water is forced through the venturi while the pressure tank is filling, air is sucked into the water line.

How does the micronizer work?

What does a Micronizer do? Micronizer – designed to introduce micron air bubbles into the water as the well pump is operating before the pressure tanks. The adjustment on the side is designed for tuning the amount of air entering the system.

How does a Micronizer work?

Micronizer is designed to be installed in the water line just prior to the inlet of the hydropneumatic tank it serves. This mechanism is a venturi that draws air into the water line through the air inlet / check valve combination to continually charge the water with air.Jun 13, 2018

How do you adjust a Micronizer?

The amount of air drawn in and draw time is adjusted with the adjustment knob. For example - If pump run time is one minute, suction thru the air inlet hole should be felt for 20-30 seconds. Adjust upwards to increase, downwards to decrease.

What is a one way valve?

The one-way valve is designed to prevent water returning back down the well causing the well pump to reprime the water line leading to the house or cabin. After the pressure tank (s) come the sediment tank consisting of an air vent on top to release excess air.

What minerals are in well water?

Lime, Calcium, Magnesium and other minerals are also found in well water. Most everyone is using a water softener to capture the minerals in the water and allow them to crystallize inside the water softener tank instead of the hot water heater and pipes.

What causes a bad odor in well water?

Heavy metals like (Zn, Fe, Pb, Cd, Cu, Cr, Al and Mn) range in the 0.75-micron down to the 0.45-micron (micrometer [um]) size. The Smoky Mountains of Tennessee consist of high concentrations of one element namely Iron, but Iron is not the problem, the bacteria is, it loves to feed on these Iron microns. Once the bacteria die, this is when it gets bad, they release a decaying gas or rotten egg odor. The decaying gas attaches to oxygen atoms in air and water. Also when you fill a glass, take a shower, water your lawn, or put ice in a glass you smell this gross rotten egg. I recommend to your family, for health reasons, to add a filter-system.
