Fixed my internet when Comcast wouldn't bother
TLDR - Comcast didn't lock up the box on the building where all the lines come in and are split off to different apartments. I moved myself to a different splitter coming off a different line and it resolved my issues. Comcast told me my modem was going bad and I needed to replace it. Yet here we are a week later, still stable.
Unstable internet connection
Started having issues with the connection in a new home where the internet would drop for 10-15 minutes a few times a day. Tech came out and ran a new line from the pole but said the issue was due to a hidden splitter somewhere and because it’s a finished basement they wouldn’t do anything and I would have another company come out to run new lines.

Spent 2 hours this morning to sort of extend my promotional rate
I was paying $127/month (after taxes/fees) for internet + TV. I have 2 TVs. The promo rate ends this month. I chatted with an Xfinity agent who told me that I could stay on the same plan for $122/month. I agreed. Then when I got the confirmation email, I saw that the 2nd cable box was cancelled.
Loss of internet speed after upgrading my plan
So I upgraded from 200mbps to 800mbps last week and after I did that my speeds have actually gone down. I own my own equipment (Arris SB8200 modem and Netgear R6700v3 Nighthawk router) and speeds were great before the plan change.
1.2 TB Data cap July 2021
July was the first month I was anywhere near 1.2 TB of data, and conveniently also the first month Xfinity elected to start charging for the data cap here in IL. I am on track to hit 1.2 TB of data in August as well! I checked my data for previous months and have always averaged about 850GBs of data.
