What is the purpose of USO?
The USO strengthens America's military service members by keeping them connected to family, home and country, throughout their service to the nation. Since 1941, the USO has been the nation's leading organization to serve the men and women in the U.S. military, and their families, throughout their time in uniform.
Why can't veterans use the USO?
Occasionally, veterans or military retirees contact us to tell us they couldn't get into a USO airport lounge because they didn't have an active military ID card. As much as we'd like to open our doors to all those who have honorably served, we have limited space and resources.
Is USO only for active military?
Per USO charter, we must allow all Active/Guard/Reserve military and their immediate dependents into the USO.
Who is eligible to use the USO?
As much as the USO would like to open its doors to retirees, disabled veterans and all those who have honorably served, as a nonprofit organization, the USO must focus its efforts on serving the needs of those who need us most: U.S. Armed Forces active duty, Reserve and Guard service members, as well as their families.
Is TSA PreCheck free for retired military?
Military retirees and veterans are not eligible for free TSA PreCheck. However, if you have any of the premium travel rewards cards listed above, you can get an TSA PreCheck or Global Entry fee waiver on most of the cards. That allows you to have free TSA PreCheck.
Can family members use USO?

Senator John Kerry recalled how important this kind of diversion would become. He remembered a "Bob Hope Follies" USO show, which included actress Ann-Margret, Miss America, football star Rosey Grier, and others.
