UNETHICAL BUSINESS PREYING ON SENIORS, THE VULNERABLE...AVOID!
The company uses unethical (if not illegal) business practices to prey on seniors and the vulnerable. My experience came about when dealing as a Power of Attorney for an elderly couple that wished to cancel Comparaction/CARP LD service. Service was being charged for an out of service number for over a year.
Took advantage of a senior
This company called my 90 year old father and offered him free magazines he did not fully hear or comprehend what was being offered. They signed him up for a long distance plan which I did not discover until three months later when I received a $10 bill for a 1 minute phone call that was made from my cell phone.
LAME!
After reading your 4 tough questions, the fourth stood out to me as so lame it instantly turned me off on your site, what a joke! 10% increase on OAS, GIVE ME A BREAK, that amounts to close to nothing, try double to triple the monthly OAS payments to reach close to $2,000.00 monthly, nearly every refugee/immigrate gets far more than a Canadian Citizen over 65 who has paid into it for nearly 45 years! Get some “NUGGETS” and demand much more than 10%…gawd!!!!.
This is not a reputable organization
Before moving into a nursing home my parents were receiving bills from CARP. I know they never signed up for this service and they were being billed by both CARP and their regular phone/internet supplier. I believe them to be a scam- similar to other reviews here.
Do not sign up for comparaction
Do not sign up for comparaction. Their long distance is too expensive and when I canceled the service they did not cancel it and was charged again. I asked for receipt of my cancellation and none received.
Say NO to CARP and ComparAction!
Like others, I wish I could give CARP -- and their off-shoot ComparAction -- zero stars. My husband inadvertently "signed up" for long distance service via ComparAction when he was cold called by them and they engaged him in a friendly chat, offering him a "free" membership in CARP and a "free" subscription to their silly magazine.
Absolute scam
Absolute scam! STAY FAR FAR AWAY. I cancelled my sub way back in January, they’re still sending me bills. Hungry for money, pieces of crap straight up
