CDA Component Exams
The GC exam is one of three components of the CDA exam. Candidates for the GC exam must submit documentation that fulfills the eligibility pathways requirements. Getting to the Test Center
First things first — you’ll need to get to the test center. Before DANB exam day, it’s a good idea to look up the route to the testing center and maybe even practice driving to the test center before the big day so that you will know exactly how to get there and where you can park.
Checking In
When you arrive at the testing center, you’ll need to sign in and show your government-issued ID. You should also be aware that test centers may take your photo and a palm scan to verify your identity. These steps are done to ensure that the exam is secure.
Taking the DANB Exam
After you check in, an exam proctor will show you to the exam room. They will provide you with a note board and marker for note-taking. They will also review the exam room rules with you and then walk you to a computer station. There, you will receive a short tutorial on how to navigate the exam.
Taking an Exam Break
While taking the DANB exam there are no breaks, but you may be excused to visit the restroom one at a time. You are not allowed to leave the building during the test. If you need to take a bathroom break, raise your hand and the proctor will walk you out of the exam room.
Completing the Exam
When you complete the exam, raise your hand to indicate to the exam proctor that you’ve finished. Once you leave the exam room, you’ll receive exam-completion confirmation paperwork from Pearson VUE, along with your preliminary results.
