What is Respondent?
Respondent is a research platform that recruits focus group participants, survey takers, and website testers from around the globe. They work with a wide range of companies like SendGrid, GoDaddy, Dropbox, Microsoft, Airbnb, and Allstate, and connect them to consumers who can give them feedback on their products and services. The majority of their studies revolve around professionals and the various tools and resources they use in their day-to-day work life. But, occasionally, they’ll have household brands and everyday usage studies too (I just completed one for a beauty brand).
How Do You Participate in Respondent Surveys?
Getting started with Respondent is easy and free. All you have to do is create an account with your email address, LinkedIn account, or Facebook account. Once inside the platform, you’ll fill in some basic information such as contact details, employment status, social profile links (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram), and demographics. You’ll want to be sure to include your social profiles because it helps researchers verify your identity and increases your chances of selection. Once your information is complete, you can start browsing projects.

How to respond to a private job invitation?
Most talent prioritize their private invitations first, in the knowledge that the client has invited them personally to respond and their odds of being hired are therefore higher. From there, it’s a good practice to look at the JobMatch TM (formerly VoiceMatch) score connected to each invitation—whether public or private—and whether the job is a Featured Job, to determine the best order in which to respond. Reply to those invites with the highest JobMatch TM (formerly VoiceMatch) score first. Talent will also often filter their invitation list by budget and response deadline under the advanced filter options.
When responding to a proposal, do you have to submit a quote?
You must submit a quote when responding. Whenever possible, provide a quote within the client's budget range, and try not to quote less than their minimum. If you quote more than the client's budget maximum, provide the reason for this in your proposal.
How to know if you have been awarded a job?
You’ll be notified by email when you’ve been awarded a job. From there the client will create a job agreement and the job status will change from Deciding to Offering. As soon as you’ve accepted the agreement, you can begin working on the project and the job status will move to Working.#N#Once the job status is in Working, the following tabs will become visible to you: Agreements, payments, files, reviews, and messages. You can use the messaging center to communicate and work through any finer job details. If at any point you need to check specifics or reference materials, you can still access all the job details in the job posting tab. If you’re confused at any point about the client’s needs, make sure to ask the client directly.#N#If at any point while working on the project, it’s determined between you and the client that additional work outside of the original project scope is required, you can request that the client add an additional payment. This will create an additional agreement for you to accept, and then you can provide the additional work.
Why do you leave a review for a client?
Once the job is done, you have the opportunity to leave a review for the client to let them know how you found working with them on the project. The experience of working with you plus you leaving a positive review for the client can really set the stage for working together on future projects. The client will also have the opportunity to leave a review for you. Building relationships is an important part of building your successful businesses, so it’s important to take the time to leave client reviews.
How to indicate a quote in a job?
You can indicate your quote by either entering it directly into the ‘Your Quote’ field, or you can indicate the amount you’d like to earn on the job by inputting the amount directly into the ‘Your Earnings’ field.
