- Better for the environment – Using LEDs produces fewer CO2 emissions and less pollution and waste
- Energy efficiency – typically 4 times more
- Cost-saving – LEDs offer long-term cost-savings because of a longer lifespan, better efficiency and lower maintenance requirements.
What does toggled led mean?
What is a toggled LED bulb? TOGGLED LED lights are designed to replace T8 and T12 fluorescent tubes. They eliminate ballast systems, reduce facility lighting costs, enhance the quality of light and are mercury free. Installation requires basic re-wiring around ballast systems to non-shunted lamp holders. Click to see full answer.
Do LED light bulbs need to be recycled?
While LED light bulbs do not contain mercury, many do contain other hazardous substances such as lead and arsenic. Despite this, most communities do not require you to recycle LEDs. If you want to recycle LED light bulbs and ensure those dangerous substances do not enter the waste stream, you may have to hunt for a proper recycling facility.

Can I just replace a fluorescent tube with LED?
Can I convert a fluorescent fixture to LED? Yes, you can replace fluorescent tubes with LED tubes or LED-integrated fixtures. If you just want to replace the bulbs, you can use plug-and-play, direct-wire, or hybrid LED tubes.
Do I need to remove the ballast to use an LED bulb?
An LED light does not require a ballast because it uses a component called a “driver” to regulate the power going into the bulb.
What are the 3 types of LED light bulbs?

What does LED light therapy do?
LED – or Light Emitting Diode – Therapy uses varying low-level wavelengths of light, including red and blue, to rejuvenate the skin at a cellular level. How does the light bulb work Thomas Edison?
Edison Light Bulb, 1879 The light bulb creates light when electrical current passes through the metal filament wire, heating it to a high temperature until it glows. The hot filament is protected from air by a glass bulb that is filled with inert gas.
How do tungsten light bulbs work?
When electrical current makes contact with the base of the bulb, electricity enters and heats the tungsten filament housed inside. And when the filament heats up, “incandescence” is created, which is light produced by heat. (You would see this same effect in a burning log or coal.)
How does a table lamp work?
The contact points at the base lead up into the inside of the bulb. At the center of the bulb is a wire (known as a filament) of pure tungsten. In a low-oxygen environment, tungsten becomes red hot and emits a great deal of light when electricity is run through it.
How do electrons light a bulb?
The electrons enter the light bulb filament with relatively high kinetic energies. As they travel through the filament they collide with metal atoms transferring mush of their kinetic energy to the metal. This energy raises the temperature of the metal.
