Ensuring you have the right measurements is crucial when making and installing Wave headed curtains. Attention to detail is crucial as the custom curtain tracks or poles needed for this system needs to be taken into account and is not made to measure in the same way ‘normal’ curtains are made.
How deep is the curtain on a wave system?
In order for the Wave system to work properly the curtain will be installed underneath the track and will go in-front of and behind, either 60mm or 80mm each side depending on the depth used. This therefore creates another tricky problem when measuring as you will need even more so to pay attention to the measurements either side of the track; many recesses we have seen on modern apartments aren’t deep enough!

(I'm so so sorry) Anyway puns aside it is a really simple and elegant style of curtain that particularly suits modern homes with large windows but looks great in any room where chic simplicity is the desired effect .

The wave heading makes a simple rippling fold effect in your finished curtain and so is a less fussy and ornate style than say french pleat or pencil pleat curtains. It must be fitted to a Silent Gliss track that is made specifically for wave heading.

Do Voile curtains need heavy curtains?
Voile fabrics look amazing in Wave Heading as they fall into beautiful soft folds and so are the perfect solution in rooms where some privacy is required but no heavy curtains are needed. That being said Wave Curtains look equally well made in heavier fabrics as long as they're not stiff or too bulky and can even be blackout lined for when you want a lie in.
Can you use wave curtains on silent gliss track?
If you have a window like this where standard curtains/ blinds aren't really an option then wave curtains on a silent gliss track can be a beautiful option, the track can be fitted very discreetly giving the impression that the curtains are almost floating from your ceiling.
What is adjustable brake on wave curtain?
A. An adjustable brake is only available on a hand drawn wave track and keeps the curtains stacked back neatly so you get a nice, clean line on the leading edge of the wave curtain when they are opened. Please see diagram below that explains this.

How to determine how many gliders are on a curtain?
A. The number of gliders on a wave curtain track is determined by the track length so the amount of fabric used is calculated from the track width. If you are making your curtains yourself once you know your track length you can use the Silent Gliss wave calculator ( click here to download) to determine how many gliders will be on the track. Simply select the track you require, if you have a pair of curtains (P) or a single (S) curtain, 80mm or 60mm and the hook spacing and the calculator will work out the glider quantity and number of pockets per curtain. There are approximately 50 pockets per metre so you can work out your fabric requirement.
