ive followed this diagram wire for wire. my truck is a 69 with 4 gauges. i did away with the regulator harness and tapped into the plug going to solenoid, ive got power at solenoid positive side but nothing going out.

fender harness is one peice to headlights. the harness from regulator to solenoid is two piece with 4 wires in each. each end has a plug . they plug in to each other to complete circuit.

its in the regulator harness but not connected to regulator. Everything else is good. Alternator puts out a steady 14.4 volts which seems a little high. Not sure.Should i run a ground wire or resistor ? My original alt had a ground wire.
