What is ACM material?
Aluminium Composite Material (ACM) also known as Aluminium Composite Panel (ACP) is a building material that is commonly used as a lining to external walls. The Aluminium Composite Material has an aluminium sheet at the front and back and a central core material. The ACM is typically 5-6 mm thick.
What is ACM plastic?
Aluminum Composite Material (ACM), is a flat, rigid panel consisting of two pre-pained aluminum sheets bonded to a thermoplastic core. This unique combination allows for exceptional printing, engraving, and machining options in a lightweight product.
What is ACM signage material?
Aluminum Composite Material (ACM) is a rigid sheet made of two sheets of pre-finished aluminum, bonded to a polyethylene core. Light-weight, without sacrificing durability, Aluminum Composite Material (ACM) sheets are often used for indoor/outdoor signage, temporary traffic control, and channel letter backings.
What are properties of ACM?
Aluminum Composite Material (ACM) Properties ACM is available in several colors, metallic finishes, and thicknesses. This material is rigid, yet lightweight, easy to machine, fabricate, and bond. It offers good dimensional stability.
Is ACM magnetic?
A steel composite material, MAX-metal™ Element has a magnetic receptive surface optimized for flatbed digital printing.
How thick are ACM panels?
For many years now, there have been multiple thicknesses of ACM available: 3mm, 4mm, and 6mm. aluminum skins. in the architectural market. The 4mm ACM panel is by far the most commonly used thickness in the Metal Composite Material industry and has been the product of choice in specifications since its invention.
What is the difference between aluminum and aluminum composite?
Composites are stronger than aluminum and are flexible, while aluminum is malleable it cannot take back its original shape once it has been modified. Composite material will bend significantly and still maintain its shape.
How long do ACM signs last?
The longevity of a sign is really dependent on the material used, whether it's laminated, sun exposure, etc. but a laminated ACM building sign could last more than 10 years.
What is Aluminium composite panel made of?
Aluminium composite panels (ACP), made of aluminium composite material (ACM), are flat panels consisting of two thin coil-coated aluminium sheets bonded to a non-aluminium core. ACPs are frequently used for external cladding or facades of buildings, insulation, and signage.
How much do ACM panels weigh?
Lightweight The finished weight of an aluminum composite panel is about 2.5 pounds per square foot after a complete installation.
How much does ACM panel cost?
Fabricated ACM typically ranges anywhere from $15-‐$35 per SF of coverage area in the majority of situations. The vast range in cost can be contributed to the many fabricators and their unique engineered systems, color selections, paint finishes, architectural design, orientation, thickness and type of plank material.
How do you cut ACM?
ACM cuts easily with a carbide-tipped saw blade - if you have a table saw or circular saw you probably have a carbide-tipped blade already. I like to use an 80 tooth blade for a smoother cut but I've read that you can even cut ACM using a utility knife - just score it a several times on both sides and snap it off.
Is ACM combustible?
Despite their advantages, the building products used in ACM (or MCM) assemblies can be combustible. Recent catastrophic high-rise building fires involving ACM wall assemblies have caused significant life and property losses.

What is ACM substrate?
Aluminum composite material (ACM) is a three-layer composite sheet with plastic as the core layer and aluminum on both sides, and the ornamental surface of the product is covered with decorative and protective coating. In recent years, ACM building materials have grown in popularity.
What is ACM cladding?
Aluminium composite material (ACM) is a flat panel made from two thin aluminium sheets bonded to a non-aluminium core, between three and seven mm thick. The panels have a painted or metallic finish, for example a copper or zinc effect.
ACM Panels Brief Introduction
ACM (aluminum composite material) panels is made up with two entirely different materials (metal and nonmetal). It not only remains the main characteristics of the original component materials (metal aluminum, non-metallic polyethylene plastic), but also overcomes the shortcomings of the original component materials.
Classification of ACM wall panels
According to the function of the panels, we can divide it into three kinds.
Low-cost ACM offers good dimensional stability and a metallic look, at half the weight of aluminum
Aluminum composite material (ACM) is a three-layer sandwich panel consisting of two pre-painted aluminum sheets bonded to a polyethylene (PE) core. ACM panels are an excellent material for indoor or outdoor applications that require good dimensional stability, low weight, and a sleek, brilliant look.
Aluminum Composite Material (ACM) Options
DIBOND® — A longtime industry standard, DIBOND® comprises two pre-painted aluminum sheets (0.012 in thick each) sandwiching a solid polyethylene core. It is the flattest panel on the market, approximately one-half the weight of a solid aluminum sheet, durable for outdoor applications, and well suited for digital and screen-printed graphics.
National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) for Asbestos
There are specific federal regulatory requirements that require the identification of asbestos-containing materials (ACM) in many of the residential buildings that are being demolished or renovated by a municipality.
EPA Guidance on Asbestos-Containing Materials (ACM) from the Applicability Determination Index (ADI)
EPA receives questions about whether or how the asbestos NESHAP regulations apply to a specific situation. EPA's answers to those questions are called "Applicability Determinations." They're available on the Applicability Determination Index (ADI), a searchable database.
Other EPA asbestos guidance
A relevant guide is Arizona Department of Environmental Quality's Asbestos NESHAP Regulations for Demolition and Renovation: A Guide for County and Municipal Building Services Departments and Owner/Operators of NESHAP Facilities (November 2011) - see What is the Asbestos Renovation & Demolition Notification Requirement? for current info.
What kind of regulations apply to removal of asbestos from buildings and other structures?
The regulations typically require that notifications be submitted to the appropriate government agencies before the work begins.
Asbestos accreditation
There are regulations that provide for the accreditation (also known as licensing or certification in some states) of people who do various types of asbestos work.
Types of Asbestos
So what actually is asbestos? In short, it’s a heat-resistant silicate mineral used in the production of fire-resistant and insulating material that, when inhaled, can be dangerous to human health.
Common Asbestos Containing Materials
During the 20th century, ACMs were frequently used in the production of construction and manufacturing products. While asbestos products are still common in the developing world, the U.S. now has regulations in place regarding the use of ACMs; however, only some products are banned.
Asbestos Testing You Can Trust
Asbestos and ACMs in your home are hazardous to your health. Before you disrupt any potentially dangerous materials, it’s better to be safe and have your home professionally tested for asbestos in order to ensure the health and safety of you and your family.
Key Features and Benefits of Aluminum Composite Material (ACM)
The primary advantage of ACM is its versatility. ACM panels can be easily cut, routed, fabricated, mounted, and installed using everyday tools. In addition to its eye-catching designs and durability, ACM remains flat over time, which reduces the oil can and rippling appearance.
Common Applications of Aluminum Composite Material (ACM)
The aesthetic qualities of ACM paired with its ability to be easily fabricated without sacrificing durability makes ACM an attractive material to use in various end user products.
