Why convectair?

Convectair has been providing high quality, energy efficient electric heating solutions for 30 years. Why Convectair? Convectair has been helping Canadians balance comfort and energy savings since 1983, with a range of affordable options to bring comfort home - even in the harshest conditions.

Why choose convectair fan heaters?

Fan-forced heaters propel hot air throughout the room, for quick and powerful heating. Equipped with a timer, they are ideal for rooms requiring quick heating, on demand. Powerful, yet sleek, Convectair's bathroom heaters will suit contemporary designed spaces and provide much needed warmth for you and your family.

How does a convection heater work?

This is one of the most important concepts in convection heating. As heated air rises and displaces room-temperature air, the cooler air comes into contact with the convection heater and consequently gets heated up as well. The process then repeats itself: hot air rises, room-temperature air gets displaced near the device, and so on.

What are the different types of convection heaters?

Convection heaters come in electric and combustion models. Electric models use electricity as the heat source, while combustion models use gas, propane, or any other type of fuel. Some models also incorporate thermal mass, such as oil heaters and night storage heaters.

How does a Convectair heater work?

Convection heaters operate on the principle that the room air is drawn to the unit from underneath where a heating element is located. The air passes over the heating element and rises out through the top of the unit back into the room as warmed air. They are light, easy to carry, and some models can be wall mounted.

What is the difference between fan heater and heat convector?

Because fan-forced heaters use a fan to move the heated air, they are able to heat a room quickly and take up less space than convection heaters. This makes them ideal for entryways, bathrooms, and utility spaces where short bursts of heat are needed and space is usually at a premium.

What is the use of convector?

Convector heaters – also called convection heaters or simply convectors - are non-fan forced heaters that use natural convection to move the heated air back into the conditioned space – making them much quieter than fan heaters.

How do I turn on Convectair?

To turn the heater ON : Place the sliding ''ON / OFF'' switch located on the right of the heater at ''1'' (F). To change the temperature : Using the "+" and "–" (A) keys, you can raise or lower the temperature setting to reach the desired level of comfort (see page 7). Troubleshooting : See page 12.

Do convector heaters use a lot of electricity?

Typically, convection heaters are around 2000W in power output which does make them more expensive to run. On top of this, you might tend to leave a convection heater on for longer periods of time too (compared to radiant heaters).

Which is cheaper to run fan or convector heater?

However, this has less heat output than a 2kW fan heater that costs 28p per hour - a massive 11p more to run per hour. Whilst convector heaters may be a more expensive radiator to run, they will keep the room warmer for longer - and are a better option in the long term than a fan radiator.

Is convector heater healthy?

Heaters that run on gas use oxygen and produce carbon monoxide, which naturally affects indoor air quality. Worse, taking in hazardous levels of carbon monoxide can result in poisoning that can lead to dizziness, nausea, or other health issues.

Are convection heaters safe?

Convector heaters are an excellent source of background heat. Also, there is very little risk of anything or anyone getting burned because the heat is not direct as it is with radiant fires.

Is convection heating good?

Are convection heaters energy efficient? Convection heaters are energy efficient if you use them for longer periods of time. Although they warm up more slowly than radiant heaters, they warm up a larger area over time. Some convection heaters are also connected to smart thermostats that detect the room temperature.

How do you clean Convectair?

To remove dust, use a soft cloth. To remove a stain, use a damp cloth. For a better performance and a maximum efficiency, it is suggested that dust and lint be regularly removed from the protective grille situated at the base of your Convectair (Figure 6).

How do I reset my Convectair heater?

The manual “Reset” button (installed on some devices only) is located on the back of the device, under a protective metal cap (see image below). Press the button to restart your device. If there is no manual “Reset” button, this means that your Convectair unit is equipped with an automatic system.

How does a convection heater work at home?

Here's the short answer: Convection heaters work using a heating coil that produces hot air. The hot air is then distributed by a fan or by a large metal surface. Convection heaters use the air as a medium to transport the heat. Either they heat up air and then blow it across the room to distribute it.

Which is better heater fan or heater?

A large room takes a lot of energy to heat. So efficiency is key here. That's why an oil-filled heater wins out as the top choice. Even though they take a little longer to warm the room up, the energy efficiency over time is just so much better than an electric fan heater.

Do convector heaters use less electricity?

The convector heater doesn't need to be on for as long as the oil filled radiator so it would use less power to heat a room, but as the oil radiator retains more heat, it will use less power to keep the room at the optimum temperature.

Is a fan heater convection?

Fan heaters: small and portable, fan heaters use forced convection to supply warmth, which means using a fan to spread the cold air over a heating element. The fan then propels the warm air back out into the room for a fast, yet noisy heating solution.

Why are convection heaters better?

Convection heaters, though not as efficient, heat enclosed spaces very well, allowing you to move about without feeling cold or chilly. They take longer to warm you up, but they're what you need if you want a constant, long-term heating solution.

Where is the air drawn in a heater?

The air is naturally drawn into the bottom of the heater , warmed up and re-diffused throughout the room, in a silent, consistent and pleasant way.

What is a fan forced heater?

Fan-forced heaters propel hot air throughout the room, for quick and powerful heating. Equipped with a timer, they are ideal for rooms requiring quick heating, on demand.

Is Convectair a good heater?
