Who can apply for EOP?

Who May Apply to EOP? The Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) serves students from low-income backgrounds and historically underserved communities. Students who are California residents or classified as AB 540 applying to the California State University (CSU) system are eligible to apply to EOP via Cal State Apply.

What do you qualify for EOP?

You may apply to EOP if you meet all six of the following requirements:

  • You are a California resident or AB540 student.
  • Your family has a history of low income based on the Cal State Apply Guidelines.
  • You are the first in your family to attend college.
  • You are a first-time freshman.

What does the EOP stand for?

To provide the President with the support that he or she needs to govern effectively, the Executive Office of the President (EOP) was created in 1939 by President Franklin D. Roosevelt.

How to be considered for EOPs?

To be considered for the EOPS Grant, students must be in good standing with EOPS and meet all the criteria listed below. To be in good standing with EOPS, students must fulfill their responsibilities described in the Mutual Responsibility Contract (pdf). Students, who do not fulfill their responsibilities will be out of compliance with the program and be placed on probation status with EOPS. These students will not be considered for the EOPS Grant.

When is the EOPs grant awarded?

The EOPS grant is awarded to eligible EOPS students in Fall and Spring semesters based on program funding availability, student program eligibility and financial aid eligibility.

How Is EOP Eligibility Determined?
