How much is the Participation Fee? The Participation Fee is assessed annually: $3,200 for PLTW Engineering, $2,200 for PLTW Biomedical Science and PLTW Computer Science, and $950 for PLTW Gateway and PLTW Launch. High schools can offer all three high school programs for a total Participation Fee of $5,400.

What is PLTW launch?
PLTW Launch taps into students’ exploratory nature, engages them in learning that feels like play, and encourages them to keep discovering – now and for years to come. Whether designing a car safety belt or building digital animations, students engage in critical and creative thinking, build teamwork skills, and learn to try and try again when faced with challenges.
How many schools are there in PLTW?
The PLTW curriculum is offered in over 10,000 schools, including 300 in Massachusetts. PLTW curricular programs are aligned to national standards, including the Next Generation Science Standards and Common Core State Standards for Mathematics and English Language Arts.
How to register for PLTW?
To attend PLTW core training you must complete the following process: 1 Before registering for core training, your district must have returned their signed PLTW Agreement to PLTW headquarters, and you must be a registered PLTW teacher in your school's PLTW record. Once you receive an email from PLTW with access to your myPLTW account, you are ready to proceed to step 3. 2 If you are unaware of having a myPLTW account, you should check with your PLTW Program or Site Coordinator (designated by your district) to confirm that you have been added as a PLTW teacher for your school. If you need help identifying these people, please contact the PLTW Solution Center at [email protected] (877-335-7589) M-F 7am-11pm EST. 3 Ideally by the end of April, follow page two of these step-by-step instructions to register with PLTW for the core trainings you want to attend. Seats are limited, and first come, first served! 4 Finally complete the required online prerequisites. This should be done on the laptop you will bring to Core Training at WPI (see the minimum computer specs for the appropriate PLTW program). This e-Learning experience can take 4 to 24 hours to complete depending on the course and your background. We highly recommend you complete it soon to get a better understanding of PLTW, your specific course, and the software the course will utilize.

Elementary Program
- Students in K-5 are able to explore their true nature as curious learners. The discovery process and learning experience feels like play and encourages hands-on learning. It encourages creative problem solving and collaboration at an early age since it’s geared specifically for their age.
Middle School
- At this age, students are figuring out the world around them as well as how they’ll fit into that world. They’re learning their passions too. It’s at this time that students should be exposed to the world of STEM learning. When students are involved in activities that revolve around engineering, computer science or biomedical topics, they are able to see how it relates to the real world.
High School
- HS PLTW Engineering Each of these programs for the high school student will give them real scenarios to solve from figuring out how to clean contaminated water to launching a space exploration project. - While PLTW is funded through the Kern Family Foundation in Wisconsin and some surrounding states. Foundations like the Conrad Foundation, John S. and James L.
