Quality of service (QoS) refers to any technology that manages data traffic to reduce packet loss, latency and jitter on a network. QoS controls and manages network resources by setting priorities for specific types of data on the network.
What is QoS and how does it work?
Quality of service (QoS) is the use of mechanisms or technologies that work on a network to control traffic and ensure the performance of critical applications with limited network capacity. It enables organizations to adjust their overall network traffic by prioritizing specific high-performance applications.
What is QoS manager?
QoS Manager (QoSM) manages QoS configurations on network devices to control and manage the overall quality of service of the network. With QoSM, you can configure various classifiers, behaviors, and policies, and bind policies with device interfaces or VLANs to form QoS deploy plans.

Is QoS necessary?
It is essential that all devices such as switches and routers have QoS capability. Traditional network operations treat all traffic with equal priority; if a network has a device that does not have QoS capability, it will not recognize the server's instructions.
