
Surflan AS is used for control of annual grasses and many broadleaf weeds in:

How much water to use for broadleaf?
Use as a directed spray where possible to avoid injury to growing points. Apply 1 ⁄ 2 inch of water to activate. May be shallowly cultivated (1 to 2 inches). May be tank mixed with other herbicides for improved broadleaf control following label directions.
Is Surflan in short supply?
Supplies of Surflan are limited. I cannot independently confirm the following but this is what I was told by a distributor. "The manufacturing facility was damaged and the active ingredient (oryzalin) is in very short supply. It is unclear oryzalin will be discontinued."
How long do you have to use Surflan Pro?
You should use the Surflan Pro Herbicide within 3 years of the date of purchase.
When to apply Surflan Pro?
You should apply pre-emergents now in the fall, and then again in the spring typically. For optimum times in your area to apply a pre-emergent, you should contact your local county extension office .
How much water to use for Surflan Pro?
Surflan Pro Herbicide application you will need to use 3 fl oz of product per 1-2 gallons of water for 1,000 sq ft. The water in this case is just a carrier and you need to use enough water to make sure you get even coverage and to make sure you are getting the correct amount of product over the 1,000 sq ft area. There are directions on page 7 of the Surflan Pro product label that explains how to properly calibrate your sprayer.
Does Surflan Pro stain rocks?
Surflan Pro may cause a slight stain. If you start to notice a slight discolor, rinsing the rocks with water should remove it.
Does Surflan Pro hurt grass?
If it is applied to a moss lawn, it will prevent new weeds, including new moss, from emerging. It will not hurt moss that has already germinated.
When to apply surflan?
Most pre-emergents should be applied in both the Fall and early Spring. It varies depending on where you live and climates where you live. We recommend contacting your local county extension office as they should have the most accurate information on how and when to treat weeds and insects in your local area, as well as the best advice on what to use in a grazing pasture.
How much Surflan per gallon?
Surflan AS Herbicide should be mixed at 1.5-2oz per gallon water.
Is Surflan safe for grass?
Surflan AS would be a great option. It is safe to be used on most grass types including some of the most sensitive ones like St Augustine. It will control Sandburs in your yard, as well as a multitude of other broadleaf weeds. It is highly recommended that you refer to the product label prior to purchase to make sure your lawn type is listed under grass species that are tolerant to the product.
Can you use surflan on turf?
Although Surflan AS is labeled for sandbur which we believe is the "sticker" you are talking about, it is not recommended to use in turf grass that is not well established as you suggested. You could damage the turf grass using this product. We recommend Image 70 DG to treat sandbur. Also, to prevent them for next year, you should apply Barricade as a pre-emergent in the late fall.
Can you use Surflan on Buffalo grass?
Surflan AS would be a great option. It is safe to be used on most grass types including Buffalo grass. It will control Sandburs in your yard, as well as a multitude of other broadleaf weeds.
