What does TDF duct stand for?
Transverse Duct FlangeLockformer came out first with a TDC Rollformer (Transverse Duct Connector) and then Engel followed with their TDF Rollformer (Transverse Duct Flange).
What is TDF and TDC?
TDC = transverse duct connections. basically they are conner pieces that go into a groove that is formed into the ductwork. TDF transverse Duct flanges, basicaly "f" corners. They are nicer to use, and snap into place.
What is TDF machine?
TDF is used as a very quick, convenient, and cost-effective method for connecting two ducts each other. In addition to this, our clients can purchase this machine at highly competitive prices from us. Features: High operational fluency.
What does TDC stand for ductwork?
TDC Duct. For installers, Transverse Duct Connection (TDC) means consistent, roll-formed flanges, hemmed from the wall sheet, which produces less material waste, increases structural integrity and enables proper gasket seating.
How many types of duct joints are there?
There are two commonly used methods by which the individual duct pieces are joined to each other: frames, and slip joints.
What is a transverse joint in ductwork?
The transverse seam is where two joints of duct or fittings are connected together. Most jobs use a combination of these transverse seams; slip/drive, TDF/TDC, ductmate, raw, and various outside flanges. Slip and Drive – common style on smaller, lighter gauge duct.
What is a Lockformer?
Lockformer has set the standard for sheet metal machinery with field-proven solutions such as our Lockformer Pittsburgh Roll Formers, Vulcan Plasma Cutting Systems, and the Transverse Duct Connector (TDC) Roll Formers.
What is TDF frame?
TDF is a flanging system that consists of forming a flange profile on the duct ends, thus made from a sheet from which the duct is fabricated. TDF is a 4-bolt duct connection system that eliminates time wastage.
What does KD pipe stand for?
KD is referenced to "knock down" because upon installation the pipes seam is left open for cutting and fitting to your application such as vent piping and appliance, water heater or furnace. Once you snap the pipe together the connection is permanent.
What is Pookie HVAC?
Pookie. HVAC slang term for duct sealant. Pressure. The application of force to something by something else in direct contact with it.
What does TDC stand for in sheet metal?
Transverse Duct Connection Systems (TDC) are produced by shops using flange forming machines. Like standard flange systems, they are designed to strengthen the duct wall.
What is Ductmate flange?
The flanges attach to the duct wall and have an integral mastic which allows the flange to seal itself to the duct. Corner pieces are used to add rigidity to the flange, hold the ductwork together, and provide a sealing surface for the gasket. The gasket serves as a seal between the flanges.

What is a TDC duct?
TDC / TDF Duct is used in lieu of Ductmate Flange for the transverse connection (end to end) on medium and high pressure rectangular duct systems.
How many stations are needed for a TDC?
12 stations are required to form the TDC profile; 16 stations required to form the TDF profile. TDC machine is available as 12 or 16 station. TDF machine is sold only as 16 station.
What is a TDC flange?
TDC (transverse duct connection): As per duct manufacture catalogs is a flange constructed from the main duct sheet which means it is attached to it it has the same duct gauge.
Do TDC corners need to be crimped?
Unlike Tdc, the normally do no need to be crimped like "c" corners. Both type of corners have bolt holes, and two pieces of duct are bolted, and clips installed (usally 6" long, about 6" apart). I myself, pefere TDF, just nicer to work with.
