Generally, the start-up period consists of the four tax years after the tax year in which the foundation was created (or otherwise became a private foundation). For this purpose, a foundation is considered created in the tax year in which its distributable amount first exceeds $500.
When must the sum of the taxable income be distributed?
The sum of these amounts must be distributed before the end of the start-up period. No part must be distributed in any particular tax year of the start-up period.

The culture of silence around menstruation limits the ability of women and girls to equally participate in society.
What is our Vision
The MENstruation Foundation strives to create free access to sanitary pads for young woman during their menstrual cycle. Each schoolgirl receives one token that she can use at the Sanitary Pad Vending Machine to retrieve a pack of eight sanitary pads per month. Pads are locally manufactured and compostable.

Foundations covers everything from the Big Bang up until roughly 600 BCE. Sounds like alot, right? It is. Like 13.8 billion years. Such a long time, one might think that this historical era will be the most difficult. Wrong. Don't spend too much time here. It's 5% of the test. 5%... So, don't go overboard. This era sets the stage for humanity as we know it. The main ideas are that humans evolved, left Africa, started farming, religion, invention, and social hierarchy. That's it. Move on. Things will get more specific and interesting in the following eras...
