Causes
Osteosarcoma (Osteogenic Sarcoma) is a malignant (cancerous) bone tumor that occurs predominantly in adolescents and young adults. Osteosarcoma typically affects adolescents and young adults generally occurs in bones around the knee joint, though any bone of the body can be affected.It accounts for approximately 5% of the tumors in childhood.
