Downstairs my hot tap is on the left. Currently in the bathroom it's on the right but when I change the wash basin should I change it or not? I thought it had to be on the left.

Years ago, when knights were bold,& ladies wore very little, most of the taps were cross tops.The hot was slightly smaller than the cold, so the two could be identified in the dark, or blind person, hot on rh/cold r/h, but modern taps are both the same, but plumbers being a responsable bunch stll fit them that way.
