The girls especially might enjoy having a beignet at Cafe DuMonde. Also give yourself and your entourage the time to do some shopping. The FQ has everything from "touristy" shops to upscale and in between. Have a LEISURELY lunch instead of being rushed to try to catch the streetcar. How about a ride in the afternoon on the Natchez steamboat to see New Orleans from the water and get more history from the captain? There is also an aquarium along the Riverwalk if the girls like that sort of thing. And the WWII museum if your parents or you have that sort of interest.
How to visit NOLA?
One day is not a lot of time to visit NOLA. Skip the cemetery tour. Take the St. Charles Streetcar to Uptown and back just to see the beautiful homes there. Spend the rest of your time walking around the FQ. Go to Jackson Square and the French Market. Walk over to Marigny and Frenchment Street and visit the restaurants and music clubs there. Good luck.
