One of the better places in DoD to work
Decent place to work for the most part. It’s government so there are still headaches and obstacles to getting most things done efficiently, but NAVSEA is better than most other places in DoD in that regard,
The job can get pretty boring quickly
I graduated with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. They place you pretty much wherever they are in need of despite your previous experience and background. Most of the work here is all maintenance work. You don't do anything innovating. I would say your job entails mostly just writing/editing documents and responding to emails.

My days are varied. A lot of different technologies and opportunities are available for those who want to do interesting work. While the pay could be better what more can you expect from a federal government position.

I worked at NAVSEA Indian Head and I will say run! They are behind most warfare centers and have no interest in changing. So much red tape and paperwork you have to complete. No real engineering or training.

Overall a great place out of college for an Engineer to start career. Good work life balance and easy to have time off. Rarely work overtime and if you do, you get paid for those hours. Flexible schedule/hours with every other Friday off.
