it is definitely the FUEL PUMP or FILTER then ;-) - or a blockage in the line. I have heard it said that when the Chevy fuel pump goes, it self destructs and may leave (clogging) pieces in the tank (ugh) Pump is IN the tank, so be extremely careful if you try to fix yourself.

if it does not start after you check your distributor cap that means you took the car out of timing, when you put the distributor cap back on you did not put it is the correct position, now you need a mechanic to get the timing of the engine
