Kili is obviously the only choice for the top spot on this list. The first reason is his dashing good looks . Dark hair, dark eyes, chiseled jawline. *Swoon*. Secondly, he is a well-rounded fighter. He uses swords and a bow and arrow, making him a more versatile warrior than some of the other dwarves. Kili is also more apt to show genuine emotion. It seems as though Tolkien wanted dwarves to be typecast as stoic warriors (though not as stoic as certain elves!), so seeing tenderness in Kili’s actions and words is a welcome relief from some of the more rigid dwarves (I’m looking at you Thorin). Kili’s interactions with Tauriel demonstrate this point perfectly. First of all, their love demonstrates the power of love in general, love that crosses races, ethnicities, a real Romeo and Juliet forbidden love type of romance. It’s a beautiful depiction of loving someone for who they are, not how they look or where they come from. This is what takes Kili from boyfriend material and very easily makes him husband material.
