Senators name Claude Giroux alternate captain as part of 2022-23 leadership group. The Ottawa Senators have found a new alternate captain. Claude Giroux has been named part of the Sens' leadership group, alongside fellow alternate captain Thomas Chabot and team captain Brady Tkachuk

Braeden "Brady" Tkachuk (/kəˈtʃʌk/; born September 16, 1999) is an American–Canadian professional ice hockey left winger and captain of the Ottawa Senators of the National Hockey League (NHL). Tkachuk was chosen by the Senators as the fourth overall pick in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft.
The easy option is to give the captaincy to a guy who has been around the organization for a period of time. And with a combined 28 years with the Ottawa Senators, Chris Neil and Chris Phillips fit that description.

Though they may be doubtful contenders, Marc Methot, Kyle Turris and Clarke MacArthur could bring a lot to the table if chosen to be captain.

The last option may be the most favourable one for the Senators. Instead of having a captain and a couple assistants, why not try no captain and three assistants?
