Why are Karyotypes useful diagrams? They can show gender, traits, and chromosomal abnormalities. Why is the number of chromosomes important during Meiosis? The cell needs to end up with 1/2 the original chromosomes so that the zygote has the correct number of chromosomes for fertilization.
A karyotype test looks at the size, shape, and number of your chromosomes. Chromosomes are the parts of your cells that contain your genes.
