Step 1: Remove the Windshield Wipers

Step 2: Loosen the Mechanism

Take out the bolts holding in the whole mechanism and you should be able to move it around a little bit.

Step 3: Pry Off the Arms

Use a pickling fork to pry off the two arms being careful not to shatter the windshield.

Step 4: Take Out the Windshield Wipers Mechanism

It takes a lot of patience and wiggling to take out the mechanism but if you get in the right position it will come out. Then you can take out the power plug.

Step 6: Cleaning

First, take a file to the post to take off the big crud and grit. Then take sandpaper and sand the post and the inside of the arm. If you put the arm back on it should be able to move like is supposed to.

Step 7: Repairing the Broken Arm

With pliers squeeze the arms back together and wiggle the whole mechanism back into place and bolt it down.
