Is my anemone split from stress?
From what I have read on the web, anenomes split under extremely high stress. From the sounds of it your tank is no where near ready for an anemone (as indicated by the excess algea). How long has your tank been established? jspahn: "Liife"?? People in glass houses.... Yeah, in this case, I'd bet 99% that its splitting from stress.

I have found that putting them in right before lights out equals a guaranteed move. Put them in at the beginning of your light cycle so they know for sure they are in a good spot for light. If you put them in and then the lights turn off, they'll go looking for more light.

i have had my55 gallon tank since July of this year... I bought two large green bubble anemone and they both took off after about 2 weeks of thriving and split into 4 now they are all weird and closed hanging out under the rocks? i am really concerned they are freaking me out!!!

my nitrates were a little high at 20 but the rest of the tank is perfect... I don't remember the exact numbers?
