You have another option but it is far more radical and quite possibly unacceptable on that basis however....#N#Swap one of the units for a slightly smaller one on the long run! Some kitchens have some door sizes in 50mm increments - you could even modify the unit and just swap the door.#N#There can't be many situations where 'the wife' would be thrilled at something being 2" shorter, but this might just be one of them....

The only thing I notice is there is an end panel to the left of the cooker and non to the right. So dosnt look symmetrical.

Well spotted; that does look, to my eyes anyway, a bit odd. It's the sort of thing that once you notice it draws the eye. Wondering what the rationale was for that. Obviously would mean shuffling everything along but would kill two birds with one stone, unless there is a good reason for the single side panel.

Firstly many thanks for the replies - some good stuff and ideas to mull over. I'm sure there are other mistakes elsewhere and to respect those that have kindly given their time already I will answer them later but for now want to keep this just about the overhang issue.

I guess you are going to cut a hob out, or perhaps you have a bit of spare WT. You could make a little wine rack to stand against the fridge. If you shortened the long WT by say 150mm you would have plenty to play with. This would leave just a little bit of front edge short, which with a bit of careful jointing could be patched in from offcuts.
