Hi, luckily I asked our agent but unfortunately even Qantas do not know where there lounges are - Australian staff do not know that there isn't a lounge at Heathrow. We had no issues going into Dubai lounge with a QF coded flight but Venice has neither Emirates or Qantas lounge and we were told by our agent that we would be allowed in. We usually book ourselves but the same flights with Qantas were 2000 AUD more expensive in January. We can use that saving to entertain ourselves at Venice airport. Enjoy your travels. Thanks Ross. You are correct - you can use the booking ref via the Emirates site to select seats. Able to do this this time around no problem for Qantas website bookings. As a Silver/Gold QFF (One World Ruby/Sapphire) that one seat selection is no charge but the other had to pay,

Thanks for that. Our tickets were booked 6 months ago, so unfortunately, it's a bit late! In short, if you are flying economy on Emirates, with an Emirates coded flight and you are Qantas Club there is no access to either Qantas or Emirates lounge s anywhere (unless you pay to enter Emirates lounge in Dubai). If you are flying business class or are Gold Qantas Club then you can. It took 4 lots of calls to Qantas to finally get to the bottom of it. It's the first time we've used a travel agent to book flights, normally we do it ourselves, anyway lesson learned.
Can you book seats on Emirates?
You can book seats but have to do it through the Emirates site using the Emirates booking confirmation . I got this by entering my Qantas booking reference on the Emirates site and it will give you the Emirates booking ref. This worked painlessly this year but in 2017, I actually had to call Emirates and do it manually as my flight booking was with a travel agent.. Naturally you still have to pay a ridiculoys amount for seat selection.
