A shower mixing valve typically will need to be adjusted after you first get it. Luckily, this is something that you will be able to easily do yourself with very few tools and time. In order to adjust the mixing valve, you will need to first remove the handle so that you can get to the inner screws.

To adjust the mixed outlet temperature of the valve, remove the cap to gain access to the adjusting spindle. The spindle should be rotated-clockwise to reduce the temperature, counter-clockwise to increase the temperature until the desired set point is reached.
