3. Remove the present light bulb
Remove the light bulb from the light globe. To do that, get yourself a screwdriver according to the screws and start unscrewing while holding the light fixture. After loosening up the screws in the light globe, lose the light kit’s mounting screws. After you have done unscrewing, take away the light kit gently from the ceiling fan motor.
4. Unplug the wires
Many ceiling fans have wired for both light and fan. If your ceiling fan is one among those, then you will see two wires heading to the light fixture. Some wire nuts connect these wires. Now find the wires and unplug them by removing the nuts. Most of the wire nuts can be disconnected by wiggling the caps in a counterclockwise direction.
5. Remove the old light Kit
After you have removed the wire caps now, it will be easier for you to remove the light kit. To remove the fixture, you have to pull the wires apart. Now the old light kit will be released. Keep it aside and remember the wirings that you just removed. Otherwise, the circuit can be damaged.
6. Attach the wires to the new light kit
Now follow the previous instructions reversely. Use the lighting labeled wire to attach the new light kit. Attach the wires correctly and screw up the wire caps when successfully connected to the new light kit’s wires.
7. Gently place the new light kit
After the wires are reassembled, screw up the light fixture to the correct place. Then take the light cover and attach it to the fan and start screwing. But if the cover doesn’t have screws, then place the cover on the fan and rotate it clockwise. If you do so, the light cover will attach to the fan correctly.
