Is the London Bridge bad?
London Bridge is really not at all a bad structure. I am sorry that a visitor to London is being given the impression that it is ugly. Certainly it is not remarkable like Tower Bridge, but it is just as beautiful in its own way. However, as already identified, the point of walking over it is to see the view, not to look at the bridge. The views from London Bridge are excellent. If you do choose to cross over Westminster Bridge I would recommend, rather than catching the bus, walking down to Borough Market. This is one of the best walks in London. The walk will be almost exactly 2 miles, which is I think is about perfect for an amble by the river. Better still, after Borough Market carry on down to Tower Bridge and then across to the Tower of London (3 miles total), where you can pick up the tube again, or, of course, just carry on walking.
