Where should the drain hose be brought on a washing machine?
Generally - where the drain hose from the machine exits at the rear bottom of the machine the hose should be brought above the highest water level of the machines tub or water will likely siphon out / never fill. There needs to be an air gap / break or water may still siphon out - this is more likely to happen if the hose is pushed tightly into a stand pipe rather than a sink - my solution - if needed - was to make a small hole in the bend of the hose that would fit over the sink edge and push a cheap pen barrel half into the hole (+ sealant if needed) and pointing in the direction of the flow
Why does a washing machine pump get hotter?
