Fantasy Brown is a dolomitic marble. It is often misclassified as a quartzite or granite. It's a hard marble and great for kitchen use, but it is still a marble and still subject to staining and etching from acidic items since it is calcium carbonate (limestone) based unlike a granite or quartzite which is silica based (quartz).

Fantasy Brown contains calcium carbonate, which gives it some of the same qualities as marble, meaning it can stain, etch, and scratch. While it does need a bit of care and attention to keep it looking good, for some people, it's worth it.Nov 11, 2019
