Is TNReady the same as TCAP?
TNReady is a part of the Tennessee Comprehensive Assessment Program (TCAP) and is designed to assess true student understanding, not just basic memorization and test-taking skills.
What is the point of TNReady?
The Tennessee Comprehensive Assessment Program (TCAP) is designed to assess true student understanding, not just basic memorization and test-taking skills. It is a way to assess what our students know and what we can do to help them succeed in the future.
Is TNReady required?
They are required by law to take a standardized test in grades 5, 7, and 9. Parents may choose either the same TNReady tests administered to public school students or take alternative standardized tests administered by a professional testing service.
What percent of your grade is TCAP?
The Sumner County Board of Education's policy requires TCAP scores to count for 15 percent of students' grades in grades 3-5 and 20 percent for students in grades 6-8. Sumner high school end-of-course exams make up a quarter of a student's final grade and are not part of the TCAP assessment.
Can you opt out of TNReady?
