  3. Cut a 4 1/2-inch-wide circle with a jigsaw in the wall through both the inside and outside walls.
  4. Insert the dryer exhaust vent cover through the outside wall.
  5. Affix the vent cover to the exterior wall with four screws inserted into each of the four corner screw holes included on the vent cover.
  6. Caulk around the vent cover to seal it from outside air.
  7. Return inside the house and clamp one end of the dryer exhaust duct with a duct clamp around the end of the inner portion of the vent cover.
  8. Connect the opposite end of the exhaust duct to the dryer vent outlet with the remaining duct clamp band.
