Klymit Insulated Static V Overview

Gear Review of the Klymit Insulated Static V Sleeping Pad
When you live in Hawaii and want to hit the north shore of Oahu and the west side of the island, you only have two options: drive two hours out of your way, or hike past Kaena Point. My friends and I decided two hours in the car was a lot of unnecessary sitting, so we packed up our backpacks for an overnight.
Where to Buy Klymit Insulated Static V
We tested and reviewed the Klymit Insulated Static V. Klymit makes a number of different versions of this sleeping pad — all them have the V-shaped baffles, a twist and pull valve, and are wider than normal pads. If you want an uninsulated pad, the Static V or Static V2 are good options.

Reviews
Light weight in a small package. Great for thru hikers or weight conscious fair-weather campers. Bang for buck on this lightweight, packable mattress is spot on. If it came down to just that it would have higher stars from me.

The Klymit Static V2 Sleeping Pad Review
Below is my full review of the Static V2, touching on a few important categories, like weight and packing size, comfort and stability, R-Value and insulation, and other features.
How does the Klymit Stack Against Competition?
The Klymit Static V2 is one of the best-valued sleeping pads on the market. For one, it’s the most comfortable sleeping pad I’ve used, providing plenty of cushion and stability.
The Final Verdict on the Klymit Sleeping Pad
This is the best-valued sleeping pad on our sleeping pad list for a reason.
Warmth
One of the first things that surprised us about this pad was its warmth; the Static V Lite has a claimed R-value of 4.4 thanks to its Klymalite™ lofted synthetic insulation, making it more than capable of handling freezing temperatures.
Comfort
With a shell composed of 30D polyester, the exterior of the Static V Lite isn’t exactly the pinnacle of comfort, although this can be resolved with the aforementioned V Sheet if you have just a little extra room in your bag.
Weight & Packed Size
The Static V Lite weighs 19.6oz (555g), which is just 2oz heavier than the Static V2. This leaves it right near the middle of our 14 sleeping pads.
Inflation
It will take around 10-15 breaths to inflate the Static V Lite, and though there is no pump sack included, we didn’t find blowing up the pad to be too exhaustive of a process. Deflating provided a bit more of a challenge than what we saw with other pads.
Durability
The weight-saving 30D polyester used for the shell of this pad is unfortunately also a bit thin, so you’ll want to be cautious around sharp objects and be sure to bring along that repair kit. The valve does jut out a bit more than what we’ve found on other pads.
The Bottom L ine
With innovative features and impressive statistics, the Klymit Static V Lite shows that good things can come in small packages and at a relatively low price tag ($95).
