About
Designed for new welders (including career changers) and those who want to enhance current welding skills, BRCC’s Continuing Education Welding Program curriculum meets American Welding Society (AWS) standards and prepares students for AWS certifications. All classes meet at the BRCC Welding Facility in Mt. Crawford.

Welding Course Descriptions
Learn welding symbols, shop math, and safety procedures through hands-on experience with various types of welding processes. You will learn MIG, TIG, and STICK welding processes in this entry-level course. This is the course for you if you are looking to enter the lucrative welding trade.
Sheet Metal Fabrication I Course Description
Learn the basics of sheet metal fabrication through this project-based course. In this course you will be instructed in sheet metal fabrication practices to produce a project that you may take home upon its completion.
How long is welding training?
This is a 52 week program (two night s a week from 6 PM - 9 PM) that will train students in the welding trade. Trainees should be able to demonstrate welding safety, basic blueprint metallurgy and weld symbols, oxyfuel systems, cutting processes, SMAW-basic beads, SMAW-fillet welds, SMAW-v-groove bu/gouge welds. This course will incorporate AWS testing when applicable. Upon completion of training, trainees that have shown mastery of a welding skill set will have the opportunity to have their welds tested for X-ray certification.
How long is the NCCER training program?
This is a 52 week program (two nights a week from 6 PM - 9 PM) that will train students in the electrical trades. Trainees will be taught NCCER Electrical Level One and Level Two. Trainees will learn electrical safety, electrical theory, device boxes, hand bending, raceways and fittings, electrical construction drawings, electrical test equipment, electrical circuits, alternating current, motor theory, conduit bending, conductor installations, grounding and bonding, circuit breakers and fuses, and control systems and fundamental concepts. Those who successfully complete the course will receive credentials from NCCER in Electrical Level One and Level Two.
