The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons states children under the age of 6 should never use trampolines, while the AAP advises against recreational trampolining altogether. Collisions, falls and improper landings can all cause severe harm, and the littlest, youngest kids are the ones most at risk.Jul 10, 2017
How dangerous are trampolines really?
They can sprain a wrist or ankle, or fracture an arm or leg, just from a bad landing on the trampoline mat itself (the place where you’re supposed to land).
They can collide with another kid who is jumping at the same time.
They can attempt a somersault or other stunt, and land on their head (yes, even on the mat).
You can take your child to a formal trampolining class if they want to learn how to do these skills safely. If your child is under the age of 6, consider using a mini trampoline with a handrail instead. This product doesn’t have as much spring and doesn’t put as much pressure on bones and joints compared to larger trampolines
