Four weeks after my initial review, here’s my Behr Premium Granite Grip follow-up review. Despite having a few problems with bubbles and stains which I discuss in this follow-up review, I’m really happy with this product.

How long does it take Behr granite grip to cure?
Spray in 4' x 4' sections and back roll with an adhesive roller cover. Longer dry time required in cooler temperatures and in higher humidity. The floor may be subjected to light foot traffic after 24 hours. Allow 72 hours before subjecting surface to heavy foot traffic or repositioning furniture.
How do I remove Behr granite grip?
If the coating is failing or peeling, use a paint stripper to remove old coating or scrape/sand down to a sound concrete surface. Scuff sand glossy surfaces.

How to apply hairline cracks?
Tape off any adjacent areas and apply to the edges using a nylon/polyester brush. For hairline cracks up to 1/8”, completely fill in with coating using a brush and allow to dry completely prior to roller application. Apply an even first coat using a 1/4" adhesive roller cover or nylon/polyester brush.

This is my Behr Premium Granite Grip review, based on my personal experiences as a DIYer. I used this slip-resistant and decorative concrete finish to cover 650 square feet of outdoor living space.
Why is granite grip not adhered to concrete?
A big cause of many painting projects, especially when it’s done on concrete , is to not prep the surface. Without a properly etched concrete surface, Granite Grip might not adhere properly.
What temperature should granite grip be applied?
The manufacturer recommended applying Granite Grip when temperatures are in the 50-to-90 degree range. As I rolled out the product, I did notice it became less easy to work with as the temperatures crept into the 80’s.
What size nap is Granite Grip?
When I applied my first coat of Granite Grip, I used an inexpensive roller cover that was specially made for adhesives. It had a 1/4 inch nap.
Can you use a 5 gallon roller to spread granite grip?
The adhesive roller cover really did a nice job of spreading the Granite Grip over the concrete. I dipped the roller into the 5 gallon can, and used pressure to roll it into the crevices of the etched concrete.
Can I clean and etch concrete before applying granite grip?
Before applying the Granite Grip, I also cleaned and etched the concrete surface. To do that, I bought a premixed clean-and-etch product ( right click > open in new tab ).
What is the soil type that absorbs water during drought?
Slab heave, they patiently explained, is especially prevalent in areas with clay soils. Here in southern Arizona, clay-based soil is common. The clay absorbs water when it rains, and dries out unevenly during periods of drought.
So far, Granite Grip looks good
Overall, I’m really happy with how Granite Grip looks. I’ve received lots of compliments on my front sidewalk, and my backyard patio looks much more inviting and pleasant.
Unexpected problems
As I noted in my initial review, I was seeing bubbles. The bubbles inflated as the days heated up to over 90 degrees Fahrenheit. In fact, we’ve had a couple of days with 101 degree temps.

Despite a few localized and hopefully minor problems, my overall experiences with Behr Premium Granite Grip have been good. In fact, I’m very happy so far with how the non-slip surface looks.
