I consider our ensuite to be modest in size and it is 1200x3500ish. We have a 1200x900 shower at one end and the space you are suggesting is equivalent to this with the door open (our drying off/towel rail space). Our vanity and toilet are fairly compact so we do have space between them which could be condensed slightly and still work.
