Plain and simple absolutely avoid empire
Plain and simple, avoid this fraudulent company. They sent a guy to inspect the floor and measurements. A 500sqft kitchen with and hallway was going to cost me 6000$ And that was after major discounts!! The original cost was going to be 12,000$. Ridiculous!!! I told the guy I was going to install them myself as that was just highway robbery.
Review
I had carpet installed on 11/16/21. I noticed after installation that the padding I paid for and was shown by the installer was being installed, was not installed. It actually appears they left my previous padding. There are also tacks sticking up in a high traffic area. I called on 11/20/21 and a service ticket was initiated.
Rip off warning
This company is overpriced! They tried to charge my family 12,000 dollars for laminate in a 480 sq ft space. That’s around 25$ per sq ft with labor. The sales man was wack and left when he learned our budget was 7k.
Deceptive practices and inflated prices
We called for an estimate for vinyl flooring and the sales lady came and informed us that a special was going on for 50% off so she measured and came up with around 660 sq ft then she said that the cost would be around $14,000 but with 50% it would be around $7000 now thats an inflated price , Home depot only wanted 4100 for the same job however, they had a 25-30 day window and my daughter was moving in by the 20th of Dec so I felt pressured to go ahead with Empire even though I really didnt want to because they could install the next week.
Empire Today bait switch and ghost!
Empire Today Absolute worst customer service I have ever encountered. Started way back in July 2020 when we scheduled weeks out to get a Saturday install and after tearing our house apart to prepare, we’re told mere minutes before workers were supposed to arrive that our job had been canceled due to someone calling out.
Everything went great
Everything went great! The saleswoman was easy to work with and knew a lot about the floors. The installers that worked on our house were fantastic - true craftsmen. They showed up on time, were polite, and cleaned everything up.
Stay Away!
I got my floors in 2019. The salesman was friendly but that’s about it. Did not really help us choose the right type of flooring. Then throughout the process we ended up switching floors which was a nightmare with the credit card. The floors were installed and now they’re warping upwards and gapping terribly.
