i am getting some building work done and no one seems able to tell me what the minimum distance a velux window can be from a chimney. i want the window to be an opening one so it needs to fulfill that criteria, but i have;nt a clue what it is, or whether this distance is horizontal, vertical or both. can you help???

Kitchen Chimney on the window dilemma
I have positioned my Hob under the window and need to install the chimney on the window now. I understand that I need use a plywood panel on the window to install the wall mount chimney. However, I really don't want to do that since it would block out the natural light. I am exploring alternatives for the same .

The distance between chimney and hob needs to be 26"-30" : 65cm-80cm. placing it above the window, suction power is reduced, placing it in middle of the window, will make the window ineffective. Island chimneys are best suited to be positioned in middle of the room, the duct running through false ceiling.
